Privacy Policy

Who we are
Kauaʻi Excavation (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a Kauaʻi-based excavation and site-work brand. Our offices and crews are based in Hawaiʻi.
Information we collect from website forms
When you submit a lead, contact, or site-walk form on this site, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Property address
- TMK (tax map key), when provided
- Project type
- Best time to reach you
- Message / notes
- SMS consent (yes/no)
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, traffic sources, and on-site events. GA4 processes a truncated/anonymized IP and assigns a client identifier via cookies. We use this data in aggregate to improve the site.
Advertising and conversion tracking
We run paid ads on Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram). To measure results we use the Google Ads conversion tag (which reads the gclid URL parameter) and the Meta Pixel (which reads the fbclid URL parameter). A lead_submitted event is fired to these platforms on successful form submission so we can attribute leads to the correct ad and campaign.
UTM and attribution parameters
When you arrive from a marketing link, we capture and store the following parameters along with the original referrer and landing page: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, gclid, fbclid. These are kept in your browser's sessionStorage and forwarded with your form submission so we know which campaign reached you.
SMS communications
Our outbound SMS line is 808-855-DIRT (+1 808 855 3478), operated through our Quo messaging platform on a registered A2P 10DLC campaign. We only text you if you check the SMS consent box on a form on this site or otherwise expressly opt in. Message frequency varies based on your inquiry. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Opting out of SMS does not affect your ability to receive a quote.
Email communications
We send transactional email (estimate replies, scheduling, project updates) in response to your inquiry. If we ever send marketing email, each message includes an unsubscribe link or reply-to-unsubscribe instruction.
Cookies and sessionStorage
We store a small first-touch attribution object in your browser's sessionStorage under the key kx_attribution. We also allow third-party cookies set by Google Analytics, Google Ads, and the Meta Pixel for the purposes described above. You can clear these at any time from your browser settings.

To run our business we share specific data with the following processors:
- Zapier — webhook routing of form submissions
- ClickUp — internal CRM for lead intake and follow-up
- Jobber — scheduling and customer management
- Quo — SMS messaging platform
- Google — Analytics 4 and Google Ads
- Meta — Meta Pixel and ad reporting
- Supabase — database and serverless functions powering this site
Data retention
We retain lead and customer data for as long as a customer relationship is active, plus up to seven (7) years to meet tax, contract, and warranty recordkeeping requirements. Analytics and ad-platform data follow each provider's standard retention windows.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you. Hawaiʻi residents and other US visitors may exercise these rights by emailing us at the address below. We will respond in a reasonable timeframe consistent with applicable Hawaiʻi and US law.
