Hawaiʻi Act 125 · Cesspool Mandate

Plan ahead. Don’t wait.

Hawaiʻi Act 125 requires every cesspool to be upgraded, converted, or connected to sewer by 2050. The state has identified 2030 and 2035 as priority targets for the most sensitive and high-impact areas — don’t wait until the waitlist is six months long.

2030
Priority 1

State priority target for cesspools near shorelines, streams, and drinking-water sources.

2035
Priority 2

State priority target for high-density and environmentally sensitive areas.

2050
Priority 3

Statewide statutory deadline under Act 125 — all cesspools must be upgraded, converted, or connected to sewer.

How It Works

Simple process. Zero surprises.

  1. Free Site Evaluation

We visit your property, assess soil conditions, locate your cesspool, and review your priority deadline. Start with a project review.

  2. Scope Review & Financing Check

We review the scope and explain the next steps. If financing is a concern, we can point you toward private lending resources we work with during your site assessment.

  3. Permitting & Scheduling

Permit details are confirmed before work begins. You get a confirmed project date.

  4. Excavation & Installation

The project team coordinates the site work, protects your landscaping, and installs your new Individual Wastewater System. Timing depends on site conditions, permitting, weather, and materials.

  5. Inspection & Certificate

We coordinate the final DOH inspection and hand you your certificate of completion.

Kauaʻi Excavation crew at jobsite

“They set clear expectations from the beginning, handled the paperwork professionally, and once approvals were in place, the crew was in and out in days. They left our yard cleaner than they found it.”

We would definitely recommended Justin and his crew. They did excavation for our pool as well as planting trees. Nice to have reliable work on Kauai. Thumbs up!

Showed up when they said, finished when they said, and the price didn't move on me. Trench was tight and the backfill came out clean. Couldn't ask for more.

Replaced an old cesspool on our property. The crew walked the site with us first, explained every step, and left the yard better than they found it. Real pros.

Hired them for grading and a driveway pad. Honest quote, no surprises, and the finish was dead flat. We'll be calling them again for the next phase.

Mowed and cleared an overgrown lot that scared off two other companies. They got in, did the work, and hauled it all out. Property looks brand new.

Underground utility run for our new build. Coordinated with the GC, didn't hold anyone up, and the trench was inspection-ready first pass. Highly recommend.
